I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with extensive experience helping children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of clinical settings. I am a Certified School Social Worker, with my B.S.W. from Adelphi University, and an M.S.W. from New York University. I have worked in a school setting as well as private practice. I am also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Association of Play Therapy.
I have worked with issues such as anxiety, depression, ADD, ADHD, adjustment disorders, oppositional behaviors, trauma and loss, divorce and separation. I use a psychodynamic approach with clients to achieve effective solutions to their concerns and issues. My belief is that therapy is a collaborative process in which both myself and the client must work together for long-lasting results. I believe in the importance of addressing individual needs and strengths throughout the treatment process. I have experience in using play therapy as well as behavioral and cognitive approaches to help children as young as five years old to grow and heal. I work together with parents to help them better understand and relate to their children’s emotional needs and promote positive behavioral change.
